NepMed attends MTIA in Chicago

NepMed participated in the 17th Annual Conference for Medical Transcription Services, organized by the Medical Transcription Industry Association (MTIA), which is a US-based trade association of companies engaged in the global business of co-sourced patient medical record documentation by transcription, primarily for the American market.

The MTIA Conference is being held on April 6 thru 8, 2006, in Chicago, Illinois. President of NepMed Alok Tuladhar is attending the conference.

NepMed attended this meeting in view of the growing trend of US health care facilities co-sourcing their transcription work to Nepal due to labor shortages in the US and to take advantage of the benefits that Nepal provides. The conference was instrumental not only in the formation of several co-sourcing partnerships but also to gain first-hand knowledge on the developments of the transcription industry in the US. The information sharing and networking opportunity provided by the MTIA Conference was vital in helping NepMed plan its future growth plans.
